Ushr is due once at harvest, before any other deduction, on land you own or have permanent rights to cultivate — separate from Zakat on savings and gold. Nisab (~653 kg, roughly 5 wasq of the staple grain) is the minimum harvest size below which no Ushr is owed. Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Islamic finance on AgroHub

What is the difference between Murabaha and a conventional loan? +
In a conventional loan, you borrow money and pay interest (riba), which is forbidden in Islam. In Murabaha, AgroHub buys the goods on your behalf at cost price and sells them to you at a disclosed, fixed profit margin agreed upfront. There is no interest charged — just a transparent markup on a real sale transaction. The profit is fixed and cannot increase even if you repay late.
Can a buyer from Malaysia use Murabaha to purchase goods on AgroHub? +
Yes — absolutely. When you select "Murabaha Financing" at checkout, AgroHub (or our partner Islamic finance institution) purchases the goods from the Pakistani seller and resells them to you at a fixed profit markup. You pay in installments over 6–24 months. The structure is drafted to AAOIFI reference; Shariah Supervisory Board review applies once the board is constituted.
Can Pakistani farmers with no collateral access finance? +
Yes. For smallholder farmers (under 25 acres), AgroHub offers Murabaha for inputs (seeds, fertiliser, irrigation) backed by the future crop as collateral — a form accepted under Shariah. The farmer repays from the crop sale proceeds. For cooperatives, Musharakah partnerships with investor co-funding are available.
How are investor returns distributed? +
For Musharakah — profits are distributed quarterly according to the agreed profit-sharing ratio. For Murabaha — the fixed margin is paid at deal maturity or in installments. For Salam — returns are realised when the commodity is delivered and sold. All distributions are tracked on your investor dashboard.
What happens if a crop fails or a deal underperforms? +
For Musharakah (equity sharing), losses are shared proportionate to the investment ratio — this is the essence of Islamic finance. However, AgroHub's terms require Takaful cover on financed projects, and Murabaha deals are secured by the goods themselves. No government or third-party guarantee exists on any AgroHub transaction — any page that claims one is wrong. As a pre-launch platform, AgroHub has no lending track record yet; our rigorous project-selection process is designed to keep defaults low.
Is AgroHub regulated? +
AgroHub Global (Pvt) Ltd (CUIN 0342558) is an incorporated Pakistani company operating as an arranger and technology platform — not a bank, not a fund, and not yet a licensed financial institution. Financing is disbursed by licensed partner institutions under their own regulatory approvals. AgroHub is engaging with the SECP (including its regulatory sandbox) on its own licensing path, and its Shariah Supervisory Board appointment is in progress. We state plainly what is licensed and what is not.

Nano Islamic Financing

Small-ticket, Shariah-structured finance for smallholder farmers across Pakistan. No bank branch. No guarantor. No riba. Designed to reach you through your phone.

THE PROBLEM WE SOLVE

Of Pakistan's 11.7 million farm households, fewer than 3 million hold formal agricultural credit.

Conventional banks require collateral, branch visits, and months of paperwork. Islamic banks serve the top tier. Nobody serves the farmer who needs PKR 20,000 for fertiliser before the kharif crop. AgroHub Nano Finance is built for exactly that farmer — digitally, and without a single rupee of interest.

🚜 HOW THE MONEY REACHES THE FARM

In-kind first — goods to the farm gate, not cash into the wind

Nano Murabaha disburses as seed, fertiliser and inputs delivered from approved suppliers — the supplier is paid directly, which removes the single biggest risk in agricultural credit before it can exist. Financing is provided by licensed institutions; AgroHub verifies the farmer, structures the deal, and monitors the field by satellite until settlement. No nano product is live yet — and we say so.

Khudmukhtar Khatoon Initiative

Women-First Nano Finance

Pakistan's women farmers — who manage 60–70% of on-farm labour but own less than 3% of agricultural land — get priority access, higher limits, and dedicated AgroHub agents. We aim to make Islamic nano finance an instrument of land equity, not just liquidity.

THE FINANCING GAP — PAKISTAN AGRICULTURE

11.7 million farm households.
Roughly three in four without formal credit.
We are closing that gap — Islamically.

Pakistan's agricultural credit demand exceeds PKR 1.6 trillion annually. Formal institutions supply barely PKR 600 billion — almost entirely through interest-based (riba) products. The smallholder farmers who grow most of Pakistan's food — roughly three in four of 11.7 million farm households — sit outside formal credit. AgroHub Islamic Microfinance exists to close that gap using capital from Malaysia and the GCC, structured for Shariah compliance — instruments subject to Shariah Supervisory Board review (appointment in progress).

Who Is This For? — Real Scenarios

These are the farmers and entrepreneurs AgroHub Islamic Microfinance is built for.

👨‍🌾
Muhammad Asif
Rice farmer · Sheikhupura, Punjab

Farms 8 acres of basmati rice. Needs PKR 1.2M to buy a combined harvester jointly with 4 neighbouring farmers. ZTBL rejected — no collateral beyond the land. Banks want 25% down payment he doesn't have.

AgroHub Solution: Group Musharakah — 5 farmers co-own the harvester with a financing institution arranged by AgroHub. Repayment from Kharif harvest proceeds in October.
👩‍🌾
Rashida Bibi
Mango grower · Multan, Punjab

Tends 3 acres of Chaunsa mangoes. Her husband passed away. Buyers offer 30% below market because she has no cold storage — fruit spoils in 3 days of harvest. Needs PKR 800K for a 10-ton cold room.

AgroHub Solution: Ijarah Muntahia Bittamleek — AgroHub purchases and leases the cold room. Monthly rental from mango sales. She owns it in 3 years.
🏭
Gulzar Ahmed
Rice miller · Larkana, Sindh

Runs a small rice milling unit serving 60 local farmers. Needs PKR 3M to upgrade his hulling machines for export-grade polishing. Current output doesn't meet GCC buyers' broken-rice tolerance standards.

AgroHub Solution: Diminishing Musharakah — AgroHub co-invests in the machinery upgrade. Profit share from export premium sales. Gulzar buys out AgroHub's share over 2 years.
🌊
Haji Noor Bakhsh
Cotton farmer · Dera Ghazi Khan

Recent floods destroyed his 12-acre cotton crop. No insurance. No savings. Loan sharks charging 40% per month. He has a CNIC, a satellite-verified farm record, and 15 years of cotton growing experience.

AgroHub Solution: Qard-ul-Hasan — PKR 250K, designed to draw from a GCC Zakat pool being established. Zero charge. Repay when able, after next harvest.

Islamic Microfinance Products — How Each Works

🤝

Diminishing Musharakah

Co-ownership · Asset Finance · Partnership

AgroHub and the farmer jointly purchase an agri-asset. The farmer pays monthly rent on AgroHub's share and buys units of that share progressively until full ownership transfers — with zero interest at any stage.

🏘️

Group Musharakah

Cooperative · Village-level · Mutual Guarantee

5–20 farmers form a registered cooperative and enter a shared Musharakah with a financing institution arranged by AgroHub. Capital allocated proportionally to farm size. Group members vouch for each other — no external collateral required.

TicketPKR 500K – 3M per group

Ijarah Muntahia Bittamleek

Islamic Lease-to-Own · Asset Transfer

AgroHub purchases an agricultural asset outright and leases it to the farmer at agreed monthly rentals. At the end of the lease, ownership transfers at a nominal PKR 1,000 — making it a practical, Shariah-structured path to asset ownership.
